Journal 71: Resilience

The Spring 2025 issue of the Journal takes a tour of resilient systems, from the use of natural regeneration and diverse species in forestry to a more locally adapted agriculture.

Theme articles are Continuous cover forestry by Charlie Taylor, Resilient woodlands by Helen Sellars, Lauriston Farm by Kate MacDougall, Seeds of Scotland by Finlay Keiller, The future is nuts by Frankie Cormac and In praise of natural regeneration by Jim Knight.

In our regular features, the Letter from… comes from Tanzania. Artists in Wood visits the Ash Rise exhibition, with furniture making, craft and design from smitten ash. Our featured community woodland is Roamers Wood, where Claire Moulton-Brown explains how burying your pants could help to restore Scotland’s forests!
